When logging trips, there can sometimes be an error in the entry or update of a trip, and you may not know how to correct it. This could be because the origin location was changed or updated. The Fix Trips tool is available to quickly use existing data to correct it. There are a few requirements in order to use the Fix Trip tool
The trip has a driving route (the blue line between the From and To locations) with driving data
The route has 2 or more waypoints (white dots on the blue line with waypoint information; hovering over them will display this information)
What does the tool do?
If the trip has the required driving route and enough information, the following steps are processed. If the trip doesn't meet the requirements, it isn't processed.
The first waypoint on the route will be set as the FROM location.
The last waypoint on the route will be set as the TO location.
The trip's mileage will be updated based on the route's characteristics and the logging method
MagicTrip: the logged route will use the collected waypoints (white dots) to calculate the Google Maps driving distance between waypoints and calculate the trip total (Go to example)
All other GPS logging methods: the logged route will be calculated using the polylines (blue segments) via sampled points (not "corners" logged roughly every 60 seconds), measuring the shortest distance between the two sampled points. (Go to example)

Editing a Single Trip
On the Trip Detail, below the map, click the Fix Trip button as shown
Multi-Select Edit Menu
Select one or more trips and apply the Fix Trip tool
Edit > Fix Mileage for Selected Trips
Important note: as detailed in this article, changes can be unintentional and possibly incorrect. The tool is designed to fix something you may not know how to fix, and it will use the driving route to get the closest approximation. Use caution if you select multiple trips.

Magic Trip Routes
Waypoints are measured using the Google Maps driving distance between each waypoint collected on the route, and totaled for the trip mileage. If you'd like to see these waypoints, you can export the trip route by selecting the trip and using Export > Trip Routes
All Other GPS Collection Methods
Every sampled point on the driving route, including waypoints, will have a blue line (polyline) with a sample point on the route showing distances. These aren't visible as an export, but they're part of the driving route; below is a graphical approximation of the breakdown of the driving route and the polylines.
