OBD-II Troubleshooting
If the app shows an error message when tapping "3. Set Vehicle Odometer," follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Turn on the vehicle's engine.
Install the "Torque Pro" app. Then open Torque Pro > Realtime Information > press and hold on any empty space > Add display > Digital Display > Distance traveled since codes cleared > choose any size. Make sure Torque shows a number in large text on that screen (not just a dash). You must purchase Torque Pro if you have not already done so. You can request a refund for any app within 15 minutes.
If the number is 65535, that means it reached the maximum, so you need to go to the "Fault Codes" screen > menu in the top right corner > Clear faults on ECU. This will reset that reading.
Exit Torque completely by tapping the phone's Back button. It will ask if you want to exit.
Open TripLog > menu > Settings > OBD Settings > 3. set vehicle odometer.
If Torque Pro only shows a dash on the "Distance traveled since codes cleared" screen, it means your vehicle does not support that code. TripLog cannot read the odometer without that code. You can try a different vehicle.
iOS-Specific Troubleshooting
If the app shows an error message when tapping "Calibrate OBD-II Device," follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Turn on the vehicle's engine.
Purchase and install the DashCommand app. It is the best OBD app, reading a large number of vehicle readings, including engine fault codes.
Open DashCommand > Data Grid > Add PID > DTCs > Distance since diagnostic trouble codes cleared > check it > Back > Done. It will appear at the bottom. After a few seconds, you should see a number.
If all the other readings appeared, but the one you just added, "SAE.CLR_DIST," did not show any number, it means your vehicle does not support that reading.
If the number is 65535, that means it reached the maximum, so you need to open the Diagnostics screen > Clear Codes. This will reset that reading. After resetting it, you must disconnect from DashCommand, open TripLog, and recalibrate OBD.
TripLog relies on that reading to determine the odometer. Not all vehicles support that reading. You can try this on another car. If your vehicle does not support it, unfortunately there is nothing we can do. But you can still use TripLog with other auto-tracking options.
